It took mine roughly 30 seconds to start firing. Might want to double check and make sure a settler is actually standing next to it, I've had problems with the getting stuck on things. I'm guessing you already did that, but it would help if you could confirm it. Just to cover the basics, did you: Build some artillery? Assign a settler to it? Did the objective update and tell you to throw the flare? Game is fun, but has quite a few annoying game-breaking bugs Showing 1 - 15 of 28 comments. If nothing else, I'll just skip this quest for now and wait until its patched up. But I can't get to the next step, I tried waiting for a day. I tried fast traveling, and I got the cannons to fire.
